About the role

  • National Sales Manager leading Canadian B2B cladding sales for Nichiha. Driving strategic growth through architects, contractors, installers, dealers, and distribution channels.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction in the Canadian market
  • Research, analyze, and present commercial opportunities for future direction and growth
  • Develop and implement plans and strategies for new business opportunities within architect, specifier, general contractor, and installer communities
  • Identify and approach key or strategic partners and set short- and long-term program goals
  • Lead the team in implementing agreed-upon sales strategies and programs
  • Work with the Director of Channel Sales to implement growth strategies emphasizing increased sales
  • Review and maintain high-profile customer relationships
  • Provide strategic input to the Director of Channel Sales
  • Identify and report potential opportunities to promote sales growth
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of current sales strategies and programs
  • Build relationships with architects, general contractors, and installers in the construction community
  • Influence the specification process with specification writers and creators
  • Develop partnerships to increase awareness of Nichiha’s products
  • Identify top general contractors who can influence material changes and position Nichiha as a cladding of choice
  • Liaise with specialty and commodity installers to position Nichiha as revenue-generating cladding
  • Identify projects where Nichiha has been specified or submitted
  • Create and maintain a project pipeline in Salesforce.com
  • Track specified/submitted project pipelines through the order-received stage
  • Document all activities in Salesforce.com
  • Present AIA/CES courses to architects and assist in developing new AIA/CES offerings
  • Present product knowledge training to general contractors and installers
  • Coordinate market intelligence on products, programs, shipping, and market segments
  • Collaborate with Nichiha personnel to provide technical assistance, training, project start-up, dealer assistance, contractor assistance, and problem resolution
  • Manage the sales process through dealer or distribution channels as required
  • Collaborate with Field Technical personnel to develop a trained and consistent installer base
  • Participate in regional and national design organization, promotional, and trade show activities
  • Assist in product development
  • Gather information on competitive activity and prospective strategic directives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline strongly desired
  • At least 10 years of sales experience in a B2B environment; building materials sales preferred
  • Comfortable with hands-on management of tasks
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to exercise effective judgment, confidentiality, and sensitivity to employee needs and business situations
  • Experience leading teams
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and maintain a robust client database
  • Proficient in face-to-face sales
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Experience using a CRM tool; Salesforce.com preferred
  • Understanding of social media trends
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
