About the role

  • Senior Program Analyst supporting OSCIA’s agricultural cost-share and educational programs for Ontario farmers. Reviewing applications, managing program data, reporting outcomes, and resolving producer issues.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, delivery, reporting, and evaluation of educational and cost-share programs for Ontario farmers
  • Support development of communication and promotional program materials
  • Coordinate and facilitate discussions and meetings with internal staff and external stakeholders
  • Support agreements with project stakeholders and partners, including work agreements and data management/sharing agreements
  • Execute special projects to support effective delivery of cost-share programs
  • Provide guidance and support on escalated applications and claims
  • Contribute to educational materials and resources for knowledge transfer, program awareness, and program uptake
  • Review and process cost-share applications and claims using internal data management systems
  • Support data management, performance tracking, reporting, and documentation
  • Assist with quarterly, bi-annual, and annual performance reports
  • Provide customer service to Ontario producers and respond to inquiries
  • Guide producers on program requirements, eligibility criteria, and application/claim processes
  • Collaborate with internal teams and support Program Analysts in resolving producer issues
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, communications support, and program deliverables

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in an agricultural or environmental-related field, such as soil science, animal biology, agronomy, agricultural business, resource management, or geography
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience, preferably based in Ontario
  • Strong understanding of agriculture, environmental and economic farm sustainability, biosecurity, soil health, water quality, and best management practices in Ontario
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, identify practical solutions, and implement effective approaches
  • Ability to interpret program requirements and translate them into clear, practical information for producers
  • Practical farm experience is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, including communicating with producers by phone, email, social media, and report writing
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in WordPress, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment while meeting deadlines under competing priorities
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with data analysis software and GIS is an asset
  • French language skills are an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Excel, databases, and reporting tools
  • Ability to coordinate with internal and external partners
  • Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s licence and have access to reliable transportation
  • Must maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive information
