About the role

  • AI-driven full-stack engineer building intelligent insurance software at PolicyMe. Developing AI-powered web features, cloud architectures, and data pipelines for Canada’s digital insurance market.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop full-stack features for an AI-powered web application
  • Integrate AI models and APIs for document processing, data extraction, and recommendation engines
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to integrate models into production
  • Research and prototype new AI applications
  • Build scalable, secure, and observable cloud architectures for AI services
  • Implement data pipelines for AI model training and inference
  • Create user experiences featuring AI-powered functionality
  • Participate in architecture planning, code reviews, and ideation sessions
  • Own feature development end-to-end and coordinate with QA and other teams
  • Communicate across teams to unblock dependencies and improve release flow
  • Contribute to quarterly planning and company-wide initiatives, including hackathons, engineering guilds, and AI tooling experiments

Requirements

  • Strong full-stack development skills using Python, React, Redux, PostgreSQL, and AWS
  • Hands-on experience integrating and deploying AI/ML technology into production environments
  • Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts and customer-focused applications
  • Ability to design modular, testable, and scalable backend architectures
  • Ability to learn new frameworks, libraries, and tools quickly
  • Expertise in observability and monitoring for cloud-native applications
  • Proven track record of proactive communication and adapting technical explanations to different audiences
  • Detail-oriented problem-solving approach, especially in complex domains
