About the role

  • Technical Business Analyst translating business needs into requirements for Portage CyberTech’s digital trust, identity, privacy, and security software. Supporting backlog readiness, architecture, integrations, and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Operations Leads, Architecture, Development, and Product teams to translate business needs into clear technical requirements.
  • Decompose initiatives, features, and epics into actionable work items for Engineering teams.
  • Identify ambiguities, gaps, risks, assumptions, dependencies, and implementation constraints before development.
  • Participate in backlog refinement to improve work quality and delivery readiness.
  • Create and maintain functional and technical documentation covering processes, workflows, integrations, and system interactions.
  • Perform impact and dependency analysis across systems, services, and teams.
  • Define and document non-functional requirements for performance, security, reliability, scalability, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with architects and Engineering teams during solution design and planning.
  • Use AI tools to improve requirements analysis, documentation, collaboration, and productivity.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of requirements management, documentation standards, and delivery processes.

Requirements

  • College diploma (DEC) or university degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Functional Analyst, or in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into detailed technical requirements.
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and engineering practices.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Experience documenting processes, workflows, integrations, and system behavior.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to identify dependencies, risks, and constraints that may affect delivery.
  • Comfortable communicating in English, both verbally and in writing, in a professional context.

  • Postman — API analysis and understanding
  • Swagger / OpenAPI

  • Microsoft 365 and collaborative documentation tools
  • French required; English required for professional communication in the English version
  • Preferred: SaaS/software product experience, user stories and acceptance criteria, REST APIs, system integrations, event-driven architectures, UML/BPMN, AWS/Azure/cloud environments, distributed Engineering teams, AI tools, SQL
