About the role
- Technical Business Analyst translating business needs into requirements for Portage CyberTech’s digital trust, identity, privacy, and security software. Supporting backlog readiness, architecture, integrations, and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Operations Leads, Architecture, Development, and Product teams to translate business needs into clear technical requirements.
- Decompose initiatives, features, and epics into actionable work items for Engineering teams.
- Identify ambiguities, gaps, risks, assumptions, dependencies, and implementation constraints before development.
- Participate in backlog refinement to improve work quality and delivery readiness.
- Create and maintain functional and technical documentation covering processes, workflows, integrations, and system interactions.
- Perform impact and dependency analysis across systems, services, and teams.
- Define and document non-functional requirements for performance, security, reliability, scalability, and compliance.
- Collaborate with architects and Engineering teams during solution design and planning.
- Use AI tools to improve requirements analysis, documentation, collaboration, and productivity.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of requirements management, documentation standards, and delivery processes.
Requirements
- College diploma (DEC) or university degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Functional Analyst, or in a similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into detailed technical requirements.
- Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and engineering practices.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Experience documenting processes, workflows, integrations, and system behavior.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to identify dependencies, risks, and constraints that may affect delivery.
- Comfortable communicating in English, both verbally and in writing, in a professional context.
