About the role
- Seeking a Technical Specialist for quantifying carbon emissions in agriculture at PUR. Focus on regenerative agriculture projects, working remotely and collaboratively across global teams.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects related to carbon in PUR’s regenerative agriculture projects
- Design field level data collection sheets and review data collected from external partners
- Calculate carbon emissions from the project area using relevant quantification tools
- Develop the sampling design for collecting field level data
- Research and develop reduction potentials for regenerative agriculture interventions
- Design methodology for conducting land use change assessments
- Provide technical support on soil organic carbon questions
- Develop monitoring plans to track emission reductions
- Write reports or support 3rd party audits/verification
- Conduct research and build a library of carbon reduction potential
Requirements
- Master's or equivalent degree from disciplines like environmental/resource management, agriculture development, or similar
- At least 5-8 years of experience in carbon topics related to agriculture, carbon accounting in the land sector, insetting/offsetting project development experience
- Strong experience in project management across different geographies and time zones
- Experienced in carbon reduction project design, quantification and monitoring in agriculture sectors
- Proven experience working with GHG LSRG, SustainCert and other relevant carbon accounting tools
- Experience in soil organic carbon considered an asset
- Strong ability to work independently and collaborate with PUR’s project teams
- Strong experience at an international level
- Fluent in English; Spanish and French are considered assets.
