About the role

  • Marketing director driving consumer visitation, revenue, and new experience launches for Pursuit’s Banff Jasper hospitality and attractions collection. Leading six marketing professionals across Alberta destinations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all marketing activity driving consumer-direct visitation and revenue across Banff, Jasper, Waterton and Golden businesses
  • Report to the Senior Director of Revenue
  • Partner with growth marketing, brand, digital and operations teams
  • Translate business strategy into marketing action
  • Own revenue targets for the Banff Jasper Collection
  • Drive marketing strategy across all businesses and channels
  • Contribute to the enterprise business plan
  • Serve as the expert on guests, competitors and destinations
  • Build and evolve guest journey maps
  • Use customer, market and business insights to identify opportunities and shape priorities
  • Oversee go-to-market and seasonal-readiness plans
  • Own go-to-market strategy for new capital investments and launch new experiences in Banff, Jasper, Golden and Waterton
  • Align local business needs with digital development
  • Optimize marketing promotions based on real-time business performance and enterprise targets
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of six marketing professionals
  • Build accountability, collaboration and high performance
  • Partner with operational and support-services leaders up to VP and C-suite level
  • Grow relationships with destination marketing organizations and industry partners
  • Collaborate with brand, digital, guest insights and communications teams
  • Drive insight from marketing KPIs and align teams around continual optimization
  • Establish and own the marketing budget
  • Manage the budget throughout the year and reallocate spend to highest-return opportunities
  • Support broader Pursuit marketing projects and initiatives as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of marketing experience
  • Significant experience in hospitality, travel, attractions or a related experience-led industry
  • Proven track record of tying marketing investment to revenue and commercial targets
  • Ability to prioritize resources, optimize spend based on performance insights, and hold teams and partners accountable for measurable business results
  • Experience owning and managing a substantial marketing budget
  • Ability to synthesize complex performance data into clear, actionable strategy
  • Experience leading a high-performing team, including coaching, developing and retaining people
  • Ability to operate effectively within a complex, cross-functional organization and influence outcomes across multiple projects and brands
  • Fluency with data-driven, digital-first marketing
  • Proficiency with MS Office and the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with digital marketing and social media
  • Valid passport
  • Valid driver's license
  • Some travel within Pursuit's geographies is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, resort management, tourism or business preferred
