About the role

  • Manager enabling RBC PH&N Investment Counsel wealth-management teams. Coaching staff, improving operations, managing talent, and supporting exceptional client experiences across Southwest Ontario.

Responsibilities

  • Support the region’s Investment Counsellors with business objectives by coaching team members and encouraging growth, idea generation, innovation, and success
  • Promote effective working relationships within Investment Counsellor teams through coaching, training, and issue-resolution support
  • Share and contribute best practices across the regional team and lead office change initiatives
  • Handle talent acquisition requests, recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, and required training for new team members
  • Oversee the annual performance management cycle and create development opportunities supporting promotions
  • Manage low performance through coaching and effective leadership
  • Ensure operational and procedural excellence by overseeing risk alerts and missing-document actions
  • Support management of the region’s physical office operations
  • Help staff resolve operational issues, remove barriers with Operations, and provide escalation support
  • Create an environment of employee engagement and effectiveness, empowering, collaborating with, and recognizing team members
  • Develop a talent pipeline by assessing capacity, allocating resources, and supporting succession planning

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing people
  • Experience leading large teams to exceptional outcomes and leading against objectives in a business development environment
  • Experience leading engagement through change management
  • Passion for problem solving
  • Leadership experience in Wealth Management or Financial Services
  • Exceptional spoken and written communication skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience assisting wealth management teams and working in client-facing roles
  • Investment designation such as CIM, CFP, or CFA is nice to have
  • University Degree is nice to have
