About the role
- Senior Manager advancing RBC’s financial-crime reporting analytics and automation. Analyzing transaction data, improving STR/SAR systems, and partnering with compliance and technology teams.
Responsibilities
- Support initiatives to advance RBC’s STR/SAR reporting systems, focusing on capability building and data-driven automation
- Analyze reporting trends and operational bottlenecks to deliver actionable process-improvement recommendations
- Monitor regulatory shifts and emerging technologies such as AI/ML to future-proof the SAR/STR framework
- Design and prototype automation workflows to reduce manual effort in STR/SAR filings
- Analyze transaction data to uncover trends and present insights to stakeholders
- Partner with compliance analysts and technology teams to refine system requirements and test new capabilities
- Lead brainstorming sessions to identify process gaps and champion agile solutions that improve accuracy and speed
- Research emerging technologies and assess their potential for RBC’s compliance toolkit
Requirements
- Post-secondary education or equivalent
- 5+ years of financial crimes investigative, analytic and leadership experience
- Deep understanding of STR/SAR regulations and financial crime typologies
- Experience with data analytics tools such as SQL and Python
- Experience with process automation
- Ability to align technology solutions with business and regulatory goals
- Experience with collaborative strategy development and communication
- Experience communicating to regulators, auditors and senior management
- Familiarity with AML legislation and regulations
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
