About the role

  • Senior Manager overseeing technology risk and controls for RBC, Canada’s largest bank. Leading control testing, risk assessments, remediation, and executive reporting across GFT.

Responsibilities

  • Understand all underlying risks in the Risk Register and evaluate new risks
  • Lead control testing for Global Functions Technology (GFT)
  • Document and manage EIM Issues and ITRM Findings from creation to closure
  • Serve as a Risk Management Subject Matter Expert for junior team members
  • Oversee and report on timely completion of Application Control Assessments
  • Understand risks, issues, KRIs, and reports feeding into the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
  • Advise Senior Management and describe the Business Unit’s Risk Profile and remediation actions
  • Manage creation of new risks and controls, including control testing
  • Build and present materials for senior-level risk management meetings; distribute notes and action items
  • Develop tools and processes to streamline risk management and gain risk insights
  • Participate in and lead risk-related projects and assessments across GFT

Requirements

  • CRISC or equivalent designation
  • 7+ years of experience as a Risk Professional
  • Initiative and self-starter ability
  • Ability to navigate situations where requirements may initially be unclear
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented
  • Ability to meet consistently high quality standards while handling multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Demonstrated written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities
  • Strong understanding of technology and/or the financial services industry
  • Experience using LLMs to generate plans, management reports, and presentations (nice-to-have)
  • Ability to build and integrate Agentic AI agents to make manual processes more efficient (nice-to-have)
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (nice-to-have)
  • Previous knowledge or experience with key risk/indicator tools such as ERIC or Archer (nice-to-have)
  • Ability to facilitate discussions and influence key decision-makers (nice-to-have)
  • Strategic thinking and excellent interpersonal skills to work across multiple functions and businesses (nice-to-have)
