About the role
- Strategic Sourcing Manager leading indirect and CapEx procurement for Semtech, a high-performance semiconductor supplier. Negotiating vendors, contracts, and sourcing events across North America.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal business units to identify needs and objectives and recommend suitable suppliers
- Vet requirements to ensure they can be operationalized
- Support capital expenditure (CapEx) sourcing activities, including technical RFQs and equipment vendor negotiations
- Coordinate with engineering and operations stakeholders
- Invite, assess, and award/recommend supplier tenders, bids, quotations, and proposals
- Design and implement RFP, RFQ, and RFI sourcing events
- Negotiate vendor specifications and optimal value
- Structure evaluation criteria for equitable and consistent preferred-vendor selection
- Establish and negotiate contract terms and conditions
- Maintain supplier relationships
- Track contract renewals and expiries and formulate supplier engagement strategies
- Conduct total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis
- Comply with applicable rules, legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices
- Manage vendors in North America
Requirements
- 5+ years of strategic sourcing experience with demonstrated expertise in pricing / contract negotiation and ownership of RFP, RFI, RFQ processes
- Expertise with capital expenditure (Capex) sourcing
- Experience sourcing Manufacturing and IT equipment
- Advanced experience with Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Undergraduate degree
- High tech industry background
- SCMP or other Supply Chain/Purchasing certification
- Exposure to SAP
- Experience with AI tools like Claude
