About the role

Project Manager overseeing all phases of restoration projects for Sense Engineering in Halifax, NS. Leading design, construction, and deliverables with a collaborative team approach.

Responsibilities

Overseeing all phases of a project from design, construction, and delivery under the support and guidance of a Project Principal.
Leading proposal development, including scope definition, fee estimation, scheduling, and resource planning.
Conducting site investigations and evaluations.
Preparing detailed technical reports of findings, providing recommendations on project concept, and providing direction during construction phase.
Preparing detailed restoration design, including scopes of work, specifications, and drawings.
Chairing client meetings and communicating design updates, changes, and key project milestones to contractors and other engineering and architectural disciplines.
Managing the tendering process and overseeing contract administration, including bid preparation, contractor selection, and review of invoices and change orders.
Representing Sense at industry events and other networking functions.
Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Commitment to continuous learning by staying updated with industry trends, codes, and best practices.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university
Minimum 5 years of Building Envelope and/or Structural Restoration experience.
Registered with or eligible for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia.
Proven ability to apply project management principles, from strategic planning and budgeting to resource allocation and scope control.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and relationship building skills with a proven ability to build trust with clients and contractors.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail coupled with a client-centric mindset.
Commitment to creative thinking and approaching challenges from fresh perspectives, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the organization.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle required.
