About the role

  • Conduct system design and simulations for railway communication control systems at Sogeclair. Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with technical requirements and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out system and signaling design, as well as analysis, modeling and simulation to define communication-based railway train control systems.
  • Develop and define system design characteristics to meet customer requirements.
  • Analyze and evaluate customer requirements and verify their compliance with the technical requirements of our product system.
  • Develop and define system and subsystem requirements to address any project-specific customer needs.
  • Communicate with the customer and internal stakeholders to obtain agreement on the design.
  • The role holder is responsible for delivering the design and is able to work independently while respecting cost and schedule constraints as defined in the approved work packages.
  • Where necessary, they will seek advice from more experienced colleagues within the team for highly complex activities.
  • Work is generally defined by the work package lead and assigned to systems engineers.
  • The systems design engineer typically works with a team of engineers to define project requirements and design, under the technical supervision of the systems design lead.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (systems, electrical, computer), Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • 4 to 10 years of experience in developing software applications for systems.
  • Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, methods, and tools.
  • Knowledge of the systems development lifecycle.
  • Intermediate expertise in URS systems (urban rail signaling):
  • • At least 5 years of experience on this type of system or on a system of similar complexity.
  • Intermediate expertise in specialized technical skills in the CBTC (communication-based train control) domain.
  • Experience using DOORS, Polarion, Melody Advance or other systems design and requirements management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of the application domain (automated train control systems) and systems engineering principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of railway signaling.
  • Expertise in systems engineering.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
