About the role
- Senior Geotechnical Project Manager overseeing materials testing and inspections at Stantec. Managing projects and mentoring technical staff in a dynamic engineering environment.
Responsibilities
- Managing budgets, timelines, and scope of projects assigned
- Coordination and supervision of material testing and test pitting programs for a variety of small to large projects spanning from infrastructure, residential, commercial, and industrial developments
- Mentoring, coaching, and training of technical staff as required
- Geotechnical field testing such as rock anchor testing, observation of deep foundation installation, piezometer installation and measurements, slope stability monitoring using inclinometers, downhole thermistor installation, etc.
- Construction quality control/quality assurance and preparation of quality documents
- Assist with field and laboratory testing of soils/concrete/asphalt
- Overseeing proposal and report preparation in the office
- Other general field and office-related duties
Requirements

- Experience working with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate initiative and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- A valid Driver's License is required
- Ability and willingness to work away from home
- Willingness to work overtime as required
- Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in materials testing and inspections is required
- 5-10 years of materials testing project management experience
