About the role

  • Engineering Talent Lead managing the growth of engineering team through full-cycle recruiting across AI and robotics functions. Collaborating directly with founders to ensure quality hiring processes.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for key roles across engineering (AI, Simulation, Robotics, Deployment and Infrastructure) - from sourcing to closing.
  • Partner with founders and hiring managers to define roles, sharpen requirements, and drive high-quality hiring decisions.
  • Source proactively through outbound, referrals, and niche technical communities.
  • Deliver exceptional candidate experience - clear communication, fast feedback, and mission-driven storytelling.
  • Build scalable hiring systems - scorecards, interviewer calibration, and ATS best practices (Ashby preferred).
  • Track and improve key metrics - time-to-fill, funnel health, and quality of hire; share insights weekly.
  • Lay the groundwork for growth by documenting processes and support the foundation of building a broader talent team.

Requirements

  • Experienced technical recruiter who has successfully hired across multiple engineering functions in high-growth deep tech or robotics/AI environments.
  • You like to understand the business inside out and use this knowledge/insight to help sharpen role requirements, find the best people and act as a true gatekeeper of talent across the organziaton.
  • Comfortable sourcing and closing senior technical talent.
  • Structured and analytical - you use data, scorecards, and evidence to drive decisions.
  • Builder mentality - you enjoy creating lightweight systems and improving process quality.
  • Calm, clear communicator who builds trust quickly with candidates and hiring managers.
  • High integrity and ownership - you move fast without cutting corners.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Deep curiosity for how high-performance teams are built and a strong connection to Sunrise’s mission.
  • Ability to automate what can be automated, so you can focus on the human part where it matters.
  • Good to Have: Experience with Ashby or other modern ATS tools and automations. Familiarity with EU/UK and US startup hiring best practices.
