About the role

  • TAM Leader scaling technical account management across Supabase’s global Postgres development platform. Coaching TAMs, owning portfolio coverage, and leading strategic escalations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the health, direction, and performance of the Technical Account Management function
  • Hire, onboard, coach, and develop TAMs
  • Run 1:1s and development plans; provide feedback on account plans, QBRs, and escalations
  • Build and maintain repeatable technical playbooks
  • Set standards for technical depth, proactivity, and communication
  • Own coverage for named and partner-mapped accounts
  • Review and rebalance account assignments quarterly
  • Resolve coverage gaps and approve discretionary assignments and cap exceptions
  • Ensure every account has an accountable technical owner
  • Audit onboarding, architecture validation, configuration guidance, adoption milestones, environment reviews, and risk tracking
  • Act as the escalation layer for complex, high-impact, or multi-stakeholder issues
  • Coordinate major incidents across support, engineering, and success
  • Own the Named Account Escalation SLA sequence and ensure root-cause and preventative actions are completed
  • Align account plans with customer roadmaps and engage on strategic capacity, architecture, and growth planning
  • Represent aggregated customer patterns to engineering and product
  • Partner with Sales, Success, and Partnerships leadership on account health, retention, and coverage
  • Track coverage, team health, adoption, incidents, customer satisfaction, retention, QBR completion, and account-plan quality

Requirements

  • Technical depth in database internals, scalability, security posture, and infrastructure tradeoffs
  • Experience hiring, coaching, and growing a technical team
  • Ability to assess coverage across 100+ accounts and a partner book
  • Experience coordinating high-severity, multi-stakeholder incidents
  • Ability to influence engineering, product, sales, and partnerships leadership
  • Clear executive and technical communication
  • Understanding of retention and expansion, including aggregate NRR
  • Background in engineering, SRE, or technical consulting
  • Track record of leading a technical customer-facing team
  • Experience with Admin Studio, Grafana, Hex, pgAdmin, HubSpot, and Notion
