About the role

  • Exercise Physiologist conducting clinical fitness assessments and personalized exercise programs for TELUS Health clients. Collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support prevention and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct personalized fitness evaluations and comprehensive kinesiology assessments, including musculoskeletal, strength, and aerobic testing
  • Perform aerobic fitness test protocols including VO2max, Bruce, Gerkins, and modified Bruce
  • Deliver one-on-one and group fitness training sessions tailored to individual assessment results
  • Provide evidence-based exercise recommendations and lifestyle counseling based on test results and health goals
  • Confer with physicians and clinical staff regarding abnormalities, assessment results, and exercise modifications
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, dietitians, nurses, and lab staff to ensure integrated client care
  • Communicate assessment findings and clinical observations to the care team and contribute to client-centered treatment plans
  • Make independent clinical decisions regarding exercise modifications and program adjustments
  • Follow protocols for medical equipment use, cleaning, and sanitation
  • Manage clinic administrative tasks, including ordering medical and gym supplies
  • Perform other clinic-related duties supporting team operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Kinetics, Exercise Sciences, or Kinesiology (or equivalent professional qualification demonstrating equivalent knowledge and competencies)
  • Current CPR/First Aid AED Certification
  • Registration with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP) as an Exercise Physiologist OR eligibility to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical fitness assessment, exercise prescription, and lifestyle counseling
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of client care
  • Ownership of client outcomes and proactive program adjustment based on assessment results and feedback
  • Sound clinical judgment and ability to prioritize tasks affecting patient care
  • Ability to communicate assessment findings and clinical observations clearly to healthcare professionals and clients
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize time-sensitive clinical tasks
  • Master's degree in Kinesiology is a great-to-have
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) charting systems is a great-to-have
  • Previous experience in a multidisciplinary clinical or rehabilitation setting is a great-to-have
  • Background in preventative health, corporate wellness, or health coaching is a great-to-have
  • Commitment to continuous professional development in exercise physiology
  • Flexible team player able to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
  • Self-starter with attention to detail and sound judgment in clinical decision-making
  • Genuine interest in preventative health, client education, and professional growth
