About the role

  • Payroll Specialist managing North America payroll administration and supporting approximately 5000 employees. Delivering excellent support and impeccable customer service with payroll expertise and guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the timely processing of all aspects of semi-monthly and weekly payroll in North America WorkDay & Ceridian Dayforce
  • Performing professional analysis of payroll related transactions
  • Prioritizing and responding to second tier employee inquiries in an effective manner within established SLA’s
  • Assisting with year-end government filings
  • Participating in peer audit/review of payrolls being processed by team members and collaboratively communicate issues as appropriate
  • Participating in special projects as required
  • Assisting on other administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year payroll experience working on both federally and provincially regulated Canadian or US payrolls
  • Knowledge of payroll related taxation rules/ laws
  • Proficient with MS Office applications, specifically MS Word, with an intermediate to advanced level of experience with Excel
  • A high degree of comfort with technology, with a desire to learn
  • Experience with payroll software, such as Ceridian Dayforce, (WorkDay would be considered an asset)
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with multiple levels of management within the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills dealing with regular and complex problems
  • Skilled at handling confidential information using tact and discretion
  • Deadline driven, resilient and able to work well in both structured and unstructured environments
  • Advanced knowledge of English is required, because you will interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners...) and internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders...) as part of this position's main responsibilities, given its scope.
