Responsibilities
Directing multi-disciplinary project teams
Providing senior technical input for delivery of water resources projects to our public, mining, industrial, private and First Nations clients
Performing and overseeing detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies, assessments, modelling, preliminary and detail design, cost estimates, specifications and input to contract documents
Developing innovative green infrastructure solutions for the urban environment
Developing site-wide and tailings storage facility, life of asset water balance models for mining clients
Applying innovative hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, from 1-D to 3-D flow and transport models
Leading floodplain and flood hazard mapping studies
Developing flood protection designs
In-stream and urban stormwater water quality monitoring and modeling
Developing and executing field investigation programs and construction support services
Preparing erosion and sediment control designs
Interacting with client representatives
Task and project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments
Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring
Help broaden our reputation via publishing and visibility at prominent industry conferences
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering, or a closely related discipline (required)
Advanced degree in environmental or civil engineering, or a closely related discipline (preferred)
Professional engineering registration (i.e. P.Eng.) within provincial guidelines (required)
At least 7 years (8+ preferred) of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
Experience with modeling and design software tools such as EPA-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS (preferred)
Valid Canadian driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
Experience in mine or industrial water management (desirable)
Collection and interpretation of climatologic and hydrometric data, including statistical/frequency analysis and the development of climate projections.
