About the role

Technical Program Manager turning ML, engineering, and product priorities into executable programs. Coordinating releases and risks at Bree, a Canadian consumer finance platform.

Responsibilities

Turn ambiguous ML, engineering, and product priorities into scoped, sequenced work engineers can execute against
Write accurate specifications and scoping documents addressing tradeoffs such as training data quality, inference latency, retraining cadence, and infrastructure cost
Run standups, sprint planning, and model review syncs
Give executives a weekly update on shipped work, risks, and decisions needed
Identify project drift early, including model underperformance, data quality issues, and deployment monitoring gaps
Clarify problems, break initiatives into workstreams, identify dependencies, establish ownership, and keep decisions and risks visible
Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, CX, Operations, Legal, and leadership

Experience as a Technical Program Manager, Program Manager, Product Manager, or similar role supporting a software engineering organization
Enough technical fluency to understand APIs, data models, system integrations, cloud infrastructure, release processes, and software dependencies
Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities and requirements can change
Excellent attention to detail, especially around ownership, dependencies, timelines, and unresolved decisions
An AI-native working style, using tools to accelerate research, documentation, meeting synthesis, backlog management, and status reporting while validating the output
Prior experience at an early-stage startup with no existing PM function to inherit (nice to have)
Familiarity with mobile and web release processes, feature flags, staged rollouts, and production monitoring (nice to have)
Experience supporting infrastructure, security, data, or machine learning initiatives (nice to have)
Comfort reading SQL, logs, dashboards, or technical documentation to validate a claim independently (nice to have)
Familiarity with Linear, Notion, GitHub, Datadog, and Slack (nice to have)
