About the role

  • Payroll and Benefits Specialist managing bi-weekly payroll and employee benefits for Turner Fleischer. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing support to team members on payroll and benefits queries.

Responsibilities

  • Process accurate bi‑weekly full‑cycle payroll and benefits reconciliation.
  • Process employee lifecycle changes (new hires, promotions, role changes, and leaves) across payroll, HRIS, and benefits systems.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including overtime, retroactive adjustments, and other special payments.
  • Process year‑end payroll activities, including reconciliation and preparation of T4s, T2200s and Year‑End Adjustments.
  • Administer group benefits and RRSP programs, including enrolments, changes, terminations, and remittances.
  • Track and reconcile PTO accruals in accordance with company policies.
  • Post payroll journal entries and complete month‑end payroll reconciliations.
  • Prepare and issue Records of Employment (ROEs) and process WSIB reconciliations and remittances.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent post-secondary education in Human Resources or Accounting, and PCP designation (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) is an asset.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in full cycle payroll, preferably within a professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a standalone payroll role.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and communicate effectively.
  • Previous experience with Dayforce and Benefit administrators like RBC, Manulife, are an asset.
  • Willingness to be in studio for 4 days a week.
