Payroll and Benefits Specialist managing bi-weekly payroll and employee benefits for Turner Fleischer. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing support to team members on payroll and benefits queries.
Responsibilities
Process accurate bi‑weekly full‑cycle payroll and benefits reconciliation.
Process employee lifecycle changes (new hires, promotions, role changes, and leaves) across payroll, HRIS, and benefits systems.
Maintain accurate payroll records, including overtime, retroactive adjustments, and other special payments.
Process year‑end payroll activities, including reconciliation and preparation of T4s, T2200s and Year‑End Adjustments.
Administer group benefits and RRSP programs, including enrolments, changes, terminations, and remittances.
Track and reconcile PTO accruals in accordance with company policies.
Post payroll journal entries and complete month‑end payroll reconciliations.
Prepare and issue Records of Employment (ROEs) and process WSIB reconciliations and remittances.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent post-secondary education in Human Resources or Accounting, and PCP designation (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) is an asset.
3-5 years’ experience in full cycle payroll, preferably within a professional services environment.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a standalone payroll role.
Strong critical thinking skills and comfortable with ambiguity.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and communicate effectively.
Previous experience with Dayforce and Benefit administrators like RBC, Manulife, are an asset.
