About the role

  • Project Manager responsible for leading technology projects for utilities within a consulting firm. Collaborating with teams to deliver high-quality outcomes on various project scales.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain client and vendor relationships.
  • Develop and maintain project plans.
  • Ensure projects remain on track.
  • Apply consistent project management standards and quality assurance to ensure that deliverables are high-quality.
  • Create and maintain risk and issue logs.
  • Manage internal project resources, assign roles and delegate responsibilities.
  • Create and maintain project budgets and financials.
  • Develop document deliverables, including presentations, procurement documents, and consulting reports.
  • Manage change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of impacts on schedule and budgets.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree/diploma
  • 5+ years’ experience in a project management role managing large-scale technology projects
  • Utility experience is an asset
  • PMP certification is an asset
  • Ability to travel within the United States and Canada
  • Strong understanding of IT principles, including lifecycle planning, estimating, and architecture
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management best practices and standards
  • Strong knowledge of project metrics and performance measurement
  • Working knowledge of the procurement lifecycle
  • Working knowledge of system integration activities, including business process development, system integration, and software testing
  • Knowledge of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) is an asset
