About the role
- Project Manager responsible for leading technology projects for utilities within a consulting firm. Collaborating with teams to deliver high-quality outcomes on various project scales.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain client and vendor relationships.
- Develop and maintain project plans.
- Ensure projects remain on track.
- Apply consistent project management standards and quality assurance to ensure that deliverables are high-quality.
- Create and maintain risk and issue logs.
- Manage internal project resources, assign roles and delegate responsibilities.
- Create and maintain project budgets and financials.
- Develop document deliverables, including presentations, procurement documents, and consulting reports.
- Manage change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of impacts on schedule and budgets.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree/diploma
- 5+ years’ experience in a project management role managing large-scale technology projects
- Utility experience is an asset
- PMP certification is an asset
- Ability to travel within the United States and Canada
- Strong understanding of IT principles, including lifecycle planning, estimating, and architecture
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management best practices and standards
- Strong knowledge of project metrics and performance measurement
- Working knowledge of the procurement lifecycle
- Working knowledge of system integration activities, including business process development, system integration, and software testing
- Knowledge of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) is an asset
