About the role

  • Senior Project Manager leading cross-functional teams to deliver customer projects for utility transformation. Managing resources, schedules, and financials for successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Host project kick-off meetings and establish project governance and project reporting standards.
  • Create and manage RAID logs, Integrated Project Plans and decision documents.
  • Manage internal and external project financials including budgets, invoices and 3rd party vendor contributions.
  • Prepare status reporting, meeting minutes and meeting agendas.
  • Facilitate change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of impacts on schedule and budgets.
  • Obtain customer acceptance of project deliverables/milestones.
  • Review and approve 3rd party and Consultant project effort contributions.
  • Forecast project staffing requirements to support project objectives and request departmental resources.
  • Onboard new team members to assigned projects.
  • Ensure the project team accurately completes time tracking reports.
  • Manage internal and external project escalations relating to deliverables, schedules, resources, budgets and client expectations.
  • Review project deliverables to ensure that they meet quality standards.
  • Facilitate various project meetings with internal/external resources to ensure all project requirements are met and knowledge transfer is achieved.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree/diploma
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • 8+ years’ experience in a project management role managing large scale technology projects
  • Utility sector experience is an asset
  • Class G drivers’ license
  • Advanced knowledge of IT principles including lifecycle planning, estimating and architecture
  • Advanced knowledge of project management best practices and standards
  • Advanced knowledge of project metrics
  • Intermediate knowledge of the procurement lifecycle
  • Intermediate knowledge of system integration activities including the development of business processes, system integration and testing requirements
  • Advanced Project Management and MS Project skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Intermediate financial management skills
