About the role

  • Assistant Director supporting Full-Time MBA students at University of Toronto’s Rotman School. Managing advising, student clubs, events, and community-building initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for program-related enquiries
  • Advise students on program and/or course matters, incorporating personal circumstances and individual backgrounds
  • Probe for information to identify students' learning and performance needs
  • Develop student assessment plans supporting learning outcomes and competencies
  • Assess and determine benchmarks and metrics for student success programming activities
  • Develop program components and initiatives advancing program objectives
  • Foster positive relationships with the campus community
  • Manage the student experience for a section of Full-Time MBA students, including academic advising and program supports leading to successful matriculation
  • Strengthen and support the student club ecosystem
  • Support program-wide student events, including pre-program activities and Orientation
  • Plan and execute academic, professional, and social club events with student clubs and the Graduate Business Council
  • Support student leaders involved in clubs, student governance, and student-led initiatives
  • Activate community-building events and support students throughout their Rotman MBA journey

Requirements

  • Master's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum five years working in student support services
  • Experience in student academic advising
  • Event planning for virtual and in-person events for large and small groups (from 5 to 300)
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, AirTable, Zoom and MS Teams
  • Demonstrated experience with ROSI, CRM and other records management systems
  • Experience with Mail Chimp, Salesforce or other e-communication tools
  • Experience managing faculty, staff and student stakeholder groups while balancing different needs and priorities
  • Prior experience with Graduate Business students and familiarity with international students' needs is an asset
  • Experience supporting students with accommodation and accessibility needs and familiarity with health and wellness resources is an asset
