About the role
- Technical Project Lead overseeing multidisciplinary environmental projects for commercial real estate. Guiding growth and maintaining client relationships in Alberta real estate development sector.
Responsibilities
- Oversee multidisciplinary environmental projects and ensure technical excellence
- Guide the growth of Vertex’s Urban Development & Infrastructure practice in Alberta
- Build and mentor a high-performing team
- Maintain and build relationships with existing clients and explore new opportunities
- Develop a sales strategy to maximize exposure to Urban Development and Infrastructure sector
- Expand Vertex exposure to UDI bids and identify relevant bid opportunities
- Provide technical guidance to clients and staff in your areas of practice
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related discipline
- 8–12+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting
- Proven business development and client relationship management experience
- Working knowledge of Stage 1 and Stage 2 ESAs in accordance with Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA)
- Established relationships with developers, engineering firms, municipalities, lenders, and/or regulators in Alberta are strong assets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal abilities
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
