About the role

Technical Project Lead overseeing multidisciplinary environmental projects for commercial real estate. Guiding growth and maintaining client relationships in Alberta real estate development sector.

Responsibilities

Oversee multidisciplinary environmental projects and ensure technical excellence
Guide the growth of Vertex’s Urban Development & Infrastructure practice in Alberta
Build and mentor a high-performing team
Maintain and build relationships with existing clients and explore new opportunities
Develop a sales strategy to maximize exposure to Urban Development and Infrastructure sector
Expand Vertex exposure to UDI bids and identify relevant bid opportunities
Provide technical guidance to clients and staff in your areas of practice

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related discipline
8–12+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting
Proven business development and client relationship management experience
Working knowledge of Stage 1 and Stage 2 ESAs in accordance with Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA)
Established relationships with developers, engineering firms, municipalities, lenders, and/or regulators in Alberta are strong assets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal abilities
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
