About the role

  • Project Manager leading EPC and construction projects for Victor Energy’s electrical infrastructure business. Managing schedules, budgets, contracts, stakeholders, safety, and project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate project setup after award and estimate handoff, ensuring the project team, budget, and documentation are in place for kickoff
  • Develop and maintain project execution plans, critical risk paths, and milestone schedules
  • Prepare, monitor, and update construction schedules and job costs
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, and subcontract activities to meet completion milestones
  • Act as primary client contact and manage client relationships and satisfaction
  • Maintain project reporting for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Manage change processes affecting project cost, schedule, or scope
  • Maintain project documentation, including execution plans, risk registers, RFI logs, change order logs, schedules, health and safety plans, and quality plans
  • Manage expenditures, approved budgets, and resource-hour projections
  • Ensure timely processing of accounts receivable and payable invoices
  • Lead kickoffs, project updates, change order, recovery plan, and lessons-learned meetings
  • Use approved company systems
  • Maintain awareness of quality, acceptance, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Coordinate project closeout and conduct post-mortems to identify improvements and lessons learned
  • Provide leadership for project execution and routine and ad hoc progress reports to senior management

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent considered an asset
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience managing medium to large full cycle EPC or construction projects required
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in utility construction (such as electrical transmission/distribution telecommunications) or similar industries is an asset
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to manage a diverse team in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment
  • Sound knowledge in the review and negotiation of contracts for construction projects with strong technical, business, financial, and legal acumen
  • Positive attitude, team player, and change agent
  • Strong time management and documentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Advanced level understanding of Microsoft Office Excel/Project applications and previous experience utilizing project management software (ex. Primavera and Microsoft Project), with the ability to learn new software program
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract/driving record required
