Claims Specialist handling moderate to high exposure property claims for Zurich Canada. Supporting a hybrid work model with customer-centric claims service.
Responsibilities
Document the claim file by accurately capturing and updating data/information in accordance with best practices for commercial claims with moderate to high exposure and complexity.
Use judgment to review policies and determine coverage by analyzing applicable coverage and assessing whether the loss is covered.
Work toward prompt claim resolution by developing a file strategy, conducting evaluations, and escalating issues as needed.
Establish timely reserves and perform ongoing review throughout the claim lifecycle.
Provide customer service through proactive communication and by responding to inquiries.
Manage expenses by working with approved vendors.
Contribute to profitable growth by providing risk insights.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of claims or insurance experience OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice (including an associate diploma) and 3+ years of claims or insurance experience OR
Completion of Zurich claims program training and 3+ years of claims or insurance experience OR
High school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of claims or insurance experience
Must obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses
Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products
Experience with Microsoft Office
Must be fluent in French
Proficiency in spoken and written English is required to facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders outside Quebec.
