About the role
- Claims Specialist handling moderate to high exposure property claims for Zurich Canada. Supporting a hybrid work model with customer-centric claims service.
Responsibilities
- Document the claim file by accurately capturing and updating data/information in accordance with best practices for commercial claims with moderate to high exposure and complexity.
- Use judgment to review policies and determine coverage by analyzing applicable coverage and assessing whether the loss is covered.
- Work toward prompt claim resolution by developing a file strategy, conducting evaluations, and escalating issues as needed.
- Establish timely reserves and perform ongoing review throughout the claim lifecycle.
- Provide customer service through proactive communication and by responding to inquiries.
- Manage expenses by working with approved vendors.
- Contribute to profitable growth by providing risk insights.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of claims or insurance experience OR
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice (including an associate diploma) and 3+ years of claims or insurance experience OR
- Completion of Zurich claims program training and 3+ years of claims or insurance experience OR
- High school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of claims or insurance experience
- Must obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses
- Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Must be fluent in French
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is required to facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders outside Quebec.
