About the role

  • Kelly Services seeks a Shop Manager for a direct hire perm role in Mississauga, ON, overseeing fleet operations, maintenance, and inventory.

Responsibilities

  • As Shop Manager you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of our shop, storage yard, fleet and other property and equipment. The primary responsibility of the Shop Manager is to provide operational and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the company’s equipment and vehicles. The Shop Manager is accountable to ensure all fleet processes are completed in a timely manner with records maintained accordingly. Responsibilities: Source and secure parts, materials & equipment required to ensure continuous operations of all Company vehicles and equipment. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the fleet, including dispatching drivers and scheduling routes. Monitor, schedule and ensure preventive maintenance of all Company vehicles and equipment. Maintain a detailed inventory of all spare part and material available at the shop or stored for future use. Maintain the cleanliness of the shop – both interior and exterior, storage yards, fleet and other equipment. Schedule fleet vehicles for preventative maintenance, oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Align with service technician to maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs. Monitor fuel usage and implement cost-saving measures. Manage Company fuel cards and reconcile corporate fuel account monthly. Collaborate with team members to develop and implement strategies for optimizing fleet efficiency. Gather, analyze, and report on fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement. Assist in the development and implementation of fleet management policies and procedures. Provide support and guidance to drivers, addressing any issues or concerns that arise. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Complete all other tasks as assigned that may change from time to time.

Requirements

  • G Driver’s license is a MUST. Work may involve some exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and loud noises. On site work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risk that require knowledge of and adherence to basic safety procedures and precautions. Work environment requires having construction safety footwear. This role will be based in Mississauga working at our location, with some flexibility for remote work. Must commute to this job’s location, have a valid driver’s license, and be authorized to work in Canada.
