About the role

  • HR Business Partner supporting 7-Eleven Canada’s workforce strategy, employee relations, compensation, and organizational change. Advising leaders across remote Manitoba and Saskatchewan operations.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders across multiple functions on workforce planning, organizational design, talent assessment, succession planning, and capability building
  • Advise leaders on organization design, workforce planning, role clarity, HR policies, and team structure
  • Share people-related business insights and trends to support decision-making and mitigate legal and financial risk
  • Contribute to national HR projects and cross-functional initiatives as part of the Canada HR Team
  • Support company culture initiatives and organizational changes
  • Resolve complex, sensitive, and high-risk employee relations matters through investigations and facilitated resolutions
  • Review, investigate, and document internal complaints; prepare findings and communicate outcomes
  • Liaise with legal counsel and regulatory bodies on internal and external legal matters
  • Support immigration matters including work authorization, LMIA, and RCIP programs
  • Provide compensation and benefits guidance and respond to employee inquiries
  • Review promotion, demotion, and salary change requests and secure exception approvals
  • Analyze and classify positions to determine appropriate pay scales
  • Coordinate HR administrative activities
  • Support succession planning, talent reviews, readiness assessments, gap identification, and development actions
  • Partner with leaders on performance management and accountability
  • Coach and develop leadership team members
  • Collaborate with HR COEs to develop, optimize, and deliver HR programs
  • Support corporate and market-specific HR programs and change initiatives
  • Identify continuous improvements in HR services, processes, and tools
  • Guide employees through layoffs, mergers, technology adoption, and other organizational transitions
  • Ensure onboarding and separation documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant
  • Support transfers, promotions, demotions, and terminations
  • Continuously streamline and improve the onboarding process
  • Advise on involuntary terminations to mitigate legal risks

Requirements

  • Bachelor's 4-year degree
  • 3–5 years in one or more functional areas of Human Resources, with Generalist preferred
  • CPHR is an asset
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office systems, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and MS Teams
  • Experience with Workday HRIS
  • Strong facilitation, project management, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing business landscapes and work effectively in virtual, remote, and hybrid environments
  • Strong communication, project management, conflict resolution, coaching, and consultative skills
  • High emotional intelligence and strict confidentiality
  • Ability to influence others, think strategically, and initiate improvements
  • Thorough understanding of HR policies, practices, and procedures
  • Thorough understanding of the legal framework and applicable provincial and federal employment laws
  • Willingness to travel across geographic areas of responsibility and possibly to the area store support center when required and approved
