About the role

  • Specialty Sales Representative promoting AbbVie gastroenterology medicines across Southern Alberta. Building healthcare-provider relationships, executing territory plans, and driving sales performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust business plans to execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
  • Build strong partnerships with customers and accounts
  • Develop a high-quality territory plan for Southern Alberta
  • Create pre-call plans and execute post-call evaluations
  • Support key stakeholders' needs, expectations, and challenges
  • Execute call plans to optimize coverage of key customers and maximize sales opportunities
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, diseases, products, and clinical expertise
  • Share market intelligence with the district manager and team members
  • Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with healthcare providers
  • Identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates
  • Operate within AbbVie's business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proven track record of success in sales and solid presentation skills
  • Strong customer relationship and building skills
  • Excellent business acumen; strategic, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to predict contingent outcomes from both a customer and competitive perspective
  • Ability to develop sales strategies from findings
  • Solution-oriented; innovative ideas and solutions to maximize business opportunities
  • Leadership and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and respond to changes
  • Collaborative partnership with district colleagues and multiple stakeholders
  • Documented success in leadership and capacity to influence and drive change
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Ease with technology and various tools/systems
  • Approximately 25% travel, including overnight travel, plus some evening/weekend work
  • Valid driver's license and passport
