Responsibilities
Consult with internal and external data requestors to clarify data needs, advise on administrative health data and recommend methodologically sound solutions.
Extract, transform, and de-identify data using tools such as SAS, SQL, R, Snowflake, and Python, ensuring compliance with privacy legislation.
Collaborate with virtual teams, data units, and research groups to support high-impact projects and improve data access processes.
Perform quality assurance, conduct basic statistical analysis, and create reports or visualizations as needed.
Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Participate in user acceptance testing and development of new data views to streamline future data access.
Requirements
University graduation in a related field (i.e. Science, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health informatics, Health Sciences, Medical humanities or Public Health) plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
Proficiency in a range of data and analysis tools, including SAS, SQL, R, Python, Snowflake, SPSS, GIS software, graphic and data visualization packages, and version control tools such as Bitbucket or GIT.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with ability to explain complex data concepts to a diverse audience.
Experience coaching or mentoring team members and contributing to internal knowledge sharing.
Demonstrated ability to manage large, diverse projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Excellent organizing skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary or cross-functional teams.
Experience working with internal and external data sources to achieve project objectives.
Public health research experience is considered a strong asset.
