About the role

  • Web Analyst owning GA4, GTM, pixel, and conversion tracking for an education and nonprofit marketing agency. Ensuring accurate, privacy-compliant data across client campaigns and CRM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain pixels, tags, and scripts in Google Tag Manager
  • Build and maintain data layers with the Web Services team
  • Manage GTM container structure, triggers, and variables across a multi-client environment
  • Implement server-side tagging where it improves measurement accuracy and durability
  • Connect website activity to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Snapchat using browser pixels and Conversion APIs
  • Configure standard and custom conversion events for leads, applications, and inquiries
  • Configure and maintain GA4 event tracking and key events from ad click through form submission and CRM entry
  • Partner with Paid Media and Web Services teams to launch campaigns and landing pages with verified tracking
  • Audit and debug broken tags, dropped events, and data discrepancies across client websites
  • Troubleshoot mismatches between ad platforms, GA4, and CRM to identify root causes
  • Run routine tag health audits across the client portfolio
  • Verify events in platform Events Managers and GA4 DebugView before campaign launches
  • Manage cookie consent banners and consent mode configuration
  • Keep tracking implementations aligned with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations
  • Monitor platform and browser changes affecting tracking durability and recommend adjustments
  • Maintain tagging plans, naming conventions, and QA checklists
  • Translate business requirements into functional tracking solutions
  • Document technical setups for internal teams

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on tracking or web analytics experience in a marketing or agency environment
  • Intermediate experience with GTM containers, trigger and variable creation, data layer implementation, and server-side tagging
  • Practical experience planning, deploying, and troubleshooting conversion tracking across major ad platforms
  • Working knowledge of pixel and Conversion API (CAPI) configuration for Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, and LinkedIn
  • Hands-on GA4 experience, including event configuration, key events, and DebugView
  • Comfort with HTML, CSS selectors, and basic JavaScript
  • Skilled use of GTM Preview mode and browser developer tools, including inspect element and network tab
  • Understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and consent management platforms
  • Ability to understand how tracking decisions affect Paid Media performance KPIs
  • Analytical, solution-driven mindset with strong communication skills
  • Education marketing experience especially valued
  • Interest in using AI or LLM tools for tag management audits, data layer validation, tracking troubleshooting, server-side tag configuration, conversion modeling, or technical documentation is a bonus
