Senior Transit Engineer supporting and growing Rail Control Systems practice across Canada. Leading technical consultancy and business development efforts for transit programs including Calgary Green Line project.
Responsibilities
Lead technical workstreams and work packages providing expert-level engineering support to Rail Control Systems projects across Canada
Provide subject-matter expertise on communications and control systems, conventional signaling, interlocking logic, train control systems, system safety, systems integration and operational principles
Support multidisciplinary coordination across different systems and project stakeholders
Mentor junior and intermediate engineers and support technical knowledge development within the team
Identify and pursue business opportunities with key Western Canadian clients
Provide strategic insights on regional market trends, procurement models, partnering strategies, and client decision-making processes
Requirements
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Systems, Signaling, or related)
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Alberta, or in the process of obtaining licensure with APEGA
15+ years of progressive engineering experience in transit systems
Hands-on exposure to LRT communications and conventional signaling systems
Strong understanding of North American transit standards, codes, and operational requirements
Knowledge of CBTC, ETCS, or other signaling technologies is an asset
Strong understanding of the Western Canada transit and LRT market
Ability to work in a hybrid technical/commercial role with minimal supervision
