About the role
- Surveillant(e) en géotechnique effectuant la surveillance et l’échantillonnage dans des projets d’ingénierie. Collaboration avec l’équipe et rédaction de rapports sur les travaux d’excavation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site supervision of drilling and exploratory trench excavation for geotechnical and environmental investigations
- Perform soil, rock and groundwater sampling and descriptions
- Carry out surveying using GPS and/or optical level
- Operate specialized equipment such as geotechnical camera (geocamera), inflatable packers, dilatometer, pressuremeter and scissometer
- Prepare and complete various field reports
- Report technical issues to the project manager or coordinator
- Comply with applicable safety procedures and regulations
Requirements
- Hold a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Environmental Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Mineral Technology, or a university degree in Geology or equivalent
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Possess the ASP construction card
- Physically fit and able to perform field work
- Available for frequent travel, including to remote locations
- Hold a valid Quebec driver’s license
- Able to communicate in French (spoken and written); English is an asset
