About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify specific learning requirements and recommend relevant, sustainable learning opportunities. Outline training frameworks and recommend appropriate delivery methods based on effectiveness, such as e-learning, instructor-led training, interactive learning, demonstrations and hands-on activities.
  • Develop training programs in collaboration with team members, colleagues and subject-matter experts, including facilitator guides, e-learning modules, videos, practical exercises, job aids and assessment materials.
  • Liaise with subject-matter experts as needed throughout the design and development process to validate content.
  • Facilitate group and one-on-one training, both virtual and in person, covering technical, operational and customer service skills.
  • Design onboarding programs for new employees while providing support and mentorship.
  • Proactively deliver training on topics relevant to upcoming events (e.g., tax season).
  • Maintain in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of relevant procedures, products, best practices and systems.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and use relevant data to revise objectives and delivery methods or recommend changes.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Learning and Development, Adult Education or a related field.
  • More than three years of relevant experience developing and implementing corporate training initiatives.
  • Experience in accounting, business administration and/or financial administration is an asset.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and the ability to apply them to the design, development, delivery and evaluation of training strategies.
  • Understanding of adult learning theories and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent IT skills and proficiency in collaborative work with Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, learning management systems (LMS) and knowledge management tools.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English and French is required to communicate effectively with partners, clients and colleagues across Canada.
