Responsibilities
Lead the ongoing evolution of leave of absence and workplace accommodation programs
Identify opportunities to modernize processes, improve employee experience, strengthen governance, and align practices with organizational objectives
Oversee intake, case coordination, documentation, and resolution of complex leave, disability, and accommodation cases
Plan and implement return-to-work arrangements and appropriate workplace adjustments
Provide expert guidance to leaders, HR, and employees on leave entitlements, accommodation requirements, and compliance obligations
Advise on and administer statutory leaves
Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and workflows
Ensure compliance with employment standards, legislation, human rights, disability, privacy, and occupational health requirements
Partner with internal stakeholders and external providers to coordinate case management and resolve escalations
Monitor program activity, trends, and outcomes
Track program metrics and prepare regular reporting
Requirements
Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Health Disability Management, or related field
7+ years of relevant HR experience
3–5 years specifically in leave of absence, disability management, or workplace accommodation
Strong knowledge of employment legislation, human rights obligations, disability management principles, privacy requirements, and return-to-work practices
Experience managing complex employee cases
Exceptional organizational skills and risk awareness
Ability to adapt to changing business needs, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential cases with discretion and sound judgment
Strict adherence to privacy and legal requirements
Ability to develop policies, processes, and program frameworks in a regulated or complex organizational environment
Fluent English communication skills required
French bilingual skills are an asset
CHRP, CHRL, CDMP, or related designation is an asset
