About the role

  • Senior Program Manager delivering complex programs and operational initiatives for Social Innovation Canada, a national charitable organization. Coordinating governance, budgets, risks, reporting, and cross-functional execution remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of assigned programs and projects
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and workback timelines
  • Coordinate activities across project teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners
  • Monitor project performance and resolve issues affecting timelines, budgets, resources, or deliverables
  • Manage project interdependencies, competing priorities, and resource constraints across multiple initiatives
  • Ensure projects meet agreed objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations
  • Establish and maintain project governance, controls, and reporting processes
  • Prepare project status updates, dashboards, risk reports, and executive briefings
  • Track progress against goals, timelines, budgets, and key performance indicators
  • Maintain project documentation, decision logs, and reporting records
  • Provide leadership with visibility into project performance, risks, dependencies, and emerging issues
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Develop mitigation plans and corrective actions; escalate critical issues and recommend resolutions
  • Monitor project health and implement recovery plans when required
  • Develop project budgets, forecasts, and resource plans with project leads
  • Monitor expenditures and identify potential budget variances
  • Coordinate and support allocation and utilization of project resources
  • Improve project delivery practices, workflows, and operational processes
  • Support standardized project management tools, templates, and reporting practices
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and document lessons learned
  • Promote best practices across projects and operational initiatives
  • Report to the CEO as an individual contributor focused on collaborative project and program delivery rather than direct people management

Requirements

  • Relevant experience managing programs, projects, or operational initiatives; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience managing programs, projects, or operational initiatives
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex projects on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, evolving, and self-directed environments
  • Strong understanding of project planning, governance, budgeting, risk management, and reporting practices
  • Experience developing project plans, tracking deliverables, managing dependencies, and driving execution
  • Strong experience working in remote or distributed teams using digital collaboration, communication, document management, and project management platforms
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Meet) and related collaboration tools
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, systems, and digital workflows
  • Ability to build productive working relationships and contribute positively to a collaborative team culture
  • Ability to take ownership, solve problems, and move work forward with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Experience working within a project management, operations, or project governance environment
  • Experience leading organization-wide initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, external partners, vendors, or service providers
  • Experience working in both Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 environments
  • Ability to accommodate core working hours from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM EST
  • Some travel required
