About the role

  • Bilingual specialist marketing Holocaust survivor memoirs, educational resources and events for the Azrieli Foundation. Creating English/French content, managing social media and coordinating outreach across Canada’s literary and education communities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong working knowledge of the Holocaust Survivor Memoirs catalogue, including new, upcoming and backlist titles
  • Read memoirs and educational resources to identify stories, themes and promotional opportunities
  • Develop content connecting survivor stories to current events, commemorative dates, educational initiatives and public conversations
  • Assist with book club guides and promotional materials
  • Coordinate outreach to bookstores, literary festivals and publishing partners
  • Support promotional campaigns for new and priority backlist titles
  • Assist with French-language publishing and distribution initiatives
  • Coordinate book promotion with libraries, museums, schools, book clubs and community organizations
  • Develop promotional materials for events, conferences, webinars and launches
  • Coordinate flyers, posters, social media graphics, email campaigns and presentation slides
  • Support communications activities at conferences, launches and educational events, with travel as required
  • Develop website content, newsletters, social media content, promotional copy and event descriptions in English and French
  • Draft media materials and press releases
  • Gather stories and updates and transform them into compelling communications content
  • Coordinate newsletters for academic, education and general reader audiences
  • Develop content calendars and schedules
  • Create graphics, short-form videos and other digital content
  • Manage social media publishing, community engagement and analytics
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and inquiries, and escalate sensitive or complex issues
  • Build relationships with educators, museums, community partners and readers through digital engagement
  • Implement strategies to increase newsletter subscriptions, social media audiences, engagement and digital reach
  • Provide communications support to broader Foundation initiatives as needed

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Publishing or a related field
  • Minimum five years of experience
  • Fully bilingual in English and French
  • Exceptional written communication skills in English and French
  • Outstanding storytelling abilities
  • Demonstrated interest in books, publishing, education or literary programming
  • Experience with social media management and digital communications tools
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Sprout Social and related content creation tools
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in publishing, educational publishing, museums or cultural institutions is a strong asset
  • Knowledge of Holocaust history and Holocaust education is an asset
  • Travel as required for conferences, launches and educational events
