About the role

  • People Ops Coordinator supporting onboarding, employee records, and HR programs at animation studio Bardel Entertainment. Coordinating employee support and People & Culture initiatives in Vancouver’s hybrid studio environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate weekly onboarding and offboarding, including pre-boarding, orientation, documentation, system access, and team integration
  • Liaise with Recruitment, IT, Payroll, and Production to ensure a consistent employee experience
  • Manage day-to-day HR administration and maintain accurate employee records in Rippling and other People Ops systems
  • Audit contracts, time-off balances, personal information, and employment records
  • Track artist retention status and help ensure contract extensions are confirmed, submitted, and signed
  • Serve as a go-to contact for artists’ questions, guidance, and support
  • Respond to employee and manager requests and escalate matters when needed
  • Coordinate performance reviews, exit interviews, engagement activities, and recurring HR programs
  • Support employee communications, learning and development programs, engagement surveys, benefits information sessions, and studio-wide projects
  • Support the People Ops Lead in weekly meetings with production leaders and follow up on employee and contract matters
  • Identify and help implement improvements to HR processes, documentation, and employee experience
  • Handle confidential employee information and provide administrative support to the People Ops team

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of direct HR experience, ideally in an HR Coordinator, People & Culture Coordinator, HR Administrator, or similar role
  • Experience working across multiple areas of HR, with hands-on onboarding experience being essential
  • Experience working as part of an HR or People team within a mid-sized organization
  • Exposure to employee records, onboarding and offboarding, HR administration, employee support, engagement, performance processes, or HR programs
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Professionalism, discretion, and good judgment when handling confidential employee information
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, HRIS platforms, and other HR systems; Rippling experience is an asset
  • Experience coordinating with Recruitment, IT, Payroll, managers, or operations teams
  • Experience providing employee-facing support or acting as a first point of contact for HR-related questions
  • Proactive, service-oriented mindset with willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
  • Interest in developing a broad HR skill set and contributing beyond day-to-day administration
  • Ability to work a minimum of 2 days per week on-site, including in-studio attendance during onboarding and predetermined Rush Weeks
