Responsibilities
The Permit Administration Technician (PAT) reviews and makes determinations in the administration of a portfolio of Land Act tenures and Forestry Licenses by drafting and implementing new and amended contractual and administrative agreements.
Conduct detailed analysis, interpreting Acts, Statutes and Regulations, and determining fees.
The PAT reviews and approves applications related to transfers, amalgamations and name changes, including issuing permits under the Energy Resource Activities Act (ERAA).
Maintain data integrity including spatial and non-spatial data capture, entering/editing and updating all Crown land approvals into databases and records utilized by the BCER, the public and other Government agencies.
Requirements
Diploma in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Legal Assistant/Paralegal, Resource and Land Management, and a minimum four years of related experience.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Demonstrated experience in interpretation of legislation, regulation and policy ensuring compliance.
Demonstrated experience in conducting extensive research and data analysis.
Demonstrated experience in working with cadastral maps, plans and/or legal descriptions, reviewing spatial data sets.
Demonstrated experience in preparing and/or reviewing resource development plans or land use plans.
Demonstrated experience in reviewing and approving applications and issuing licenses, permit documents and/or other legal contractual documentation.
Demonstrated knowledge of fee billing and invoicing, including complex calculations of rental/fees.
