About the role

  • Strategic Pursuit Centre Manager leading complex proposals and pursuit teams at BDO, a Canadian professional-services firm. Driving process improvement, stakeholder collaboration, and growth-oriented pursuit effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end pursuit management process for complex, strategic, and high-value opportunities
  • Provide RFx analysis, pursuit strategy, proposal planning, compliance reviews, and submission oversight
  • Partner with service line leaders, partners, and subject matter experts to develop compelling and differentiated proposals
  • Support oral presentations, pursuit debriefs, and lessons learned activities
  • Ensure deliverables meet BDO quality standards and align with firm branding, messaging, and pursuit best practices
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of 2–4 pursuit professionals
  • Conduct performance management, career development discussions, and ongoing coaching
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, and talent development initiatives
  • Improve pursuit processes, workflows, tools, templates, and service delivery models
  • Champion technology, automation, AI-enabled tools, and leading practices
  • Participate in strategic planning for SPC service offerings, operating models, and team effectiveness
  • Advise pursuit teams and business stakeholders across the firm
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Business Development, Design, and Industry teams
  • Build organizational relationships to increase awareness, adoption, and effectiveness of SPC services

Requirements

  • University degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, English, or a related field
  • 7+ years of progressive experience managing pursuits, proposals, or business development programs within professional services, consulting, technology, or related industries
  • Experience supporting both public and private sector pursuits is required
  • Previous experience leading, coaching, or managing teams preferred
  • APMP, PMP, or related project management certification considered an asset
  • Expertise in pursuit management, proposal development, and RFx processes
  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated experience driving process improvement and operational efficiencies
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Exceptional business writing, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, SharePoint, collaboration tools, and emerging AI-enabled productivity solutions
  • Strategic thinking and strong business acumen

  • Collaborative and relationship-driven with a passion for continuous improvement
