Responsibilities
- Use AI tools to generate the majority of application code, validating and refining outputs to ensure correctness, security, and architectural alignment.
- Push the boundaries of what AI can do within a complex legacy system, solving difficult integration and workflow challenges.
- Experiment with new AI tools, prompting strategies, and development workflows to continuously improve how we build software.
- Identify opportunities where AI can accelerate development, testing, and debugging.
- Work through ambiguous or technically challenging problems with persistence and curiosity.
- Share insights with the team and help champion an AI-first development mindset.
- Contribute to system architecture, ensuring both AI-generated and human-written code remain scalable and maintainable.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong experience with PHP (Laravel) and Go, plus modern frontend technologies.
- Hands-on experience building and integrating Shopify apps and APIs.
- You already use AI extensively in your development workflow, not occasionally, but as a core part of how you build software.
- You enjoy experimenting with AI tools, prompting techniques, and automation workflows.
- You’re comfortable tackling complex technical challenges where AI doesn’t work perfectly out of the box.
