About the role
- HR Assistant supporting onboarding, employee records, staffing, and compliance at Untold Studios, a creative content studio. Part-time hybrid contract role in Toronto.
Responsibilities
- Prepare offer letters and coordinate onboarding documentation
- Verify employment eligibility and assist with new hire onboarding
- Support new employees during onboarding and answer questions
- Schedule meetings and coordinate introductory meetings
- Assist with HR communications through HR platforms
- Maintain employee information, PTO tracking, sick leave, onboarding, and offboarding documentation
- Organize personnel files and ensure records are accurate and compliant
- Administer permanent and project-based employee onboarding
- Coordinate production staffing, start and end dates, extensions, and documentation
- Answer employee questions about benefits, policies, and HR processes
- Help keep company policies current and compliant with Canadian and Ontario laws
- Prepare HR reports and headcount information
- Process incoming HR mail and escalate time-sensitive matters to the HR Manager/Head of People
- Support learning and development initiatives and People programs
Requirements
- Must be living and eligible to work in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
- Detail-oriented and service-focused
- Highly motivated and solutions-driven
- Able to thrive as part of a close-knit creative team
- Knowledge of Canadian and Ontario employment regulations
- 3 days a week, 9am–6pm availability for a 3-month contract
