Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Project Manager for Breast Health Operations will lead cross-functional coordination for the breast program expansion.
Acting as a liaison with the Executive Director and all key points of contact, and serving as the central point of contact between capital planning, facilities, architects, and trades to ensure timely execution of space design, renovation, and readiness activities while maintaining the project within Government timelines and approved financial budgets.
The Project Manager applies established project management principles, tools, and templates throughout the project life cycle including the initiation, planning, executing, controlling and closing phases.
Provides leadership to ensure that the overall completion of project deliverables are achieved including management of project scope, resources, communications, risks/issues, budget, timelines, procurement, integration, quality and implementation.
The Project Manager promotes and maintains a positive, professional, and team-oriented environment demonstrating a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of Shared Health projects that will span a variety of areas, often with provincial scope and focus.
Requirements
Three to five years’ experience in planning and implementing projects.
Experience in program development, introduction of new systems and change management strategies.
Previous experience in a healthcare environment.
Previous experience implementing large scale projects across a variety of stakeholders.
Proven track record of producing results within time and budget constraints.
Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline such as health, business or public administration, engineering, from an accredited educational institution. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Postgraduate education is an asset.
Previous training in project management.
Project Management Professional Certification is an asset.
Demonstrated proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio).
Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles, practices and techniques.
Knowledge of regional policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines.
Knowledge of the Personal Health Information Act, Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems (WHMIS), Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions) and other legislated acts.
Demonstrated management principles.
Understanding and knowledge of roles and responsibilities of project team members and change management strategies.
Experience leading project teams including planning, managing, and implementing change.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Ability to prioritize workload, respond to simultaneous demands and delegate appropriately.
Influences others to achieve desired outcomes.
