About the role

  • Project Manager for Radio-Canada’s News Department coordinating staff assignments in Montreal. Managing production schedules and acting as a strategic advisor with editorial staff in a dynamic newsroom environment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing staff assignment plans for the Montreal News Centre
  • Coordinate all relevant data required to produce these plans efficiently
  • Serve in a strategic planning and advisory role with production teams and senior editorial staff
  • Negotiate terms with various stakeholders and identify creative solutions
  • Coordinate information across all relevant departments to establish assignment schedules
  • Secure the necessary approvals to carry out production projects
  • Work remote on-call shifts to cover last-minute replacement needs
  • Maintain compliance with corporate standards and ensure quality follow-up

Requirements

  • College diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in similar roles (e.g., project management, production logistics, or budget planning)
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, autonomy, and respect for confidentiality
  • Strong ability to manage multiple files simultaneously
  • Proven interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Strong ability to develop creative solutions and propose alternatives
  • Excellent command of French
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (an asset)
  • Knowledge of a newsroom production environment (an asset)
