About the role

  • Senior Vice President building Coastal Community Credit Union’s digital growth and innovation business. Leading digital banking, AI, open banking, payments, marketing, and fintech initiatives to grow member relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CIDO to set the digital vision and strategy and lead its execution through the new digital line of business
  • Align with the SVP, Technology & IT Operations to ensure robust technical delivery, operations, and security
  • Lead and build the new digital line of business, translating the strategic plan into measurable digital growth, membership, and engagement outcomes
  • Develop short- and long-term plans, business cases, and budgets for the digital portfolio
  • Monitor performance against targets and reallocate investment to high-return opportunities
  • Set the vision and multi-year roadmap for online, mobile, conversational, and emerging digital banking channels
  • Drive personalization and self-service capabilities to deepen member relationships and increase digital adoption
  • Build digital marketing and member-growth capabilities spanning acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and cross-sell
  • Partner with retail, small business, commercial, wealth management, and insurance leaders to embed digital capabilities
  • Build and operate an innovation function from horizon scanning and ideation through validated pilots and scaled deployment
  • Lead responsible adoption of AI and machine learning, including generative AI
  • Develop and execute open banking and open data strategy in relation to Canada’s Consumer-Driven Banking framework
  • Lead, supervise, coach, and develop the team and its leaders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field required
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of progressive experience in the financial services industry or digital/technological product, including significant digital growth experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of senior leadership experience with accountability for a significant product portfolio, business line, or comparable commercial mandate
  • Success leading complex business environments, developing high-performing teams, and driving strategic growth
  • Specialized expertise in the functional area of responsibility
  • Success launching and scaling digital banking, payments, data/AI, or fintech-enabled products and partnerships
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and member-growth levers, including digital acquisition, personalization, lifecycle marketing, and performance analytics
  • Proven knowledge of banking, wealth, and insurance operations, products, and applicable financial-institution regulations
  • Strong understanding of open banking/consumer-driven banking, payments modernization, AI governance, and data privacy and protection requirements
