About the role

  • Head of Corporate Development leading Corel’s consumer and prosumer software acquisitions. Owning sourcing, valuation, diligence, negotiation, and post-close integration across North American and European targets.

Responsibilities

  • Own Corel’s deal engine and acquisition strategy
  • Build and manage the M&A pipeline by sourcing consumer, prosumer, and desktop software targets across the US, Canada, and Europe
  • Lead transaction execution end-to-end, including valuation, financial modeling, IOI/LOI drafting, deal structuring, negotiation, signing, and closing
  • Develop investment theses and board-ready deal memos, valuation analyses, and market maps
  • Partner with the CEO, executive team, and Vector Capital’s investment team
  • Direct cross-functional due diligence across finance, legal, tax, product, and technology
  • Manage outside advisors and keep fast-moving processes on track
  • Cultivate relationships with bankers, founders, and advisors
  • Partner with integration leaders post-close to ensure deals deliver on their thesis
  • Report directly to the CEO and eventually the CFO

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience across investment banking, private equity, venture/growth investing, and/or corporate development
  • Exposure to consumer software and technology
  • Direct deal execution experience from sourcing through close
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including LBO models, Merger Models, and comparable company analyses
  • Genuine interest in consumer software roll-ups; consumer, prosumer, or desktop software experience is highly relevant
  • Sound commercial and operational judgment
  • Strong executive presence and ability to communicate and influence at the C-suite, board, and sponsor level
  • Comfort managing multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Experience operating in a PE-backed or sponsor-owned environment and executing buy-and-build strategies is a bonus
  • Established network of technology bankers, founders, and advisors across the US and Canadian markets is a bonus
