About the role

  • Principal leading debt financing mandates for Crux, a clean-economy capital platform. Negotiating renewable-energy transactions from origination through close.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a book of debt mandates from IOI through close as primary negotiator and senior execution lead
  • Drive lender diligence, structuring, negotiation, documentation, and closing to institutional standards
  • Own transaction velocity and close rates across the deal book
  • Author credit memos and pricing recommendations and present transactions to Credit Committee
  • Lead deal teams, staff transactions, review underwriting, diligence, and financial models, and mentor junior team members
  • Run debt execution with lenders and institutional capital providers
  • Partner with Industry Coverage to qualify opportunities and provide market and financeability feedback
  • Partner with Investments on tax-equity/preferred-equity attach transactions
  • Lead workstreams for new lender programs, financing structures, and term sheet/documentation standards
  • Build standardized execution processes and drive AI-enabled modeling and automation
  • Partner with Product and Engineering on transaction tooling
  • Represent Crux in webinars, whitepapers, conferences, and industry dialogues

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
  • 8-10+ years of total experience
  • 7+ years in renewable energy project finance, infrastructure debt, or structured lending
  • Track record of leading construction, term, back-leverage, or debt capital markets transactions as the primary negotiator
  • Deep expertise in project finance debt structures for solar, wind, and storage
  • Hands-on negotiation of credit agreements and intercreditor arrangements
  • Knowledge of the interplay between tax equity and debt
  • Experience preparing and presenting transactions to credit or investment committee
  • Experience leading and mentoring deal teams
  • Experience reviewing junior team members' underwriting and modeling work
  • Exceptional negotiation and relationship skills with developers, lenders, and investors
  • Strong judgment and ability to operate autonomously in a fast-scaling environment
  • Strong interest in leveraging technology and AI to improve debt execution
  • FINRA SIE, Series 79 and 63 required or willingness to obtain under Crux's broker-dealer sponsorship
