About the role
- Diesel Technician/Mechanic diagnosing and repairing engines at customer sites. Responsible for maintenance and repair tasks while adhering to safety and environmental policies.
Responsibilities
- Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to engines at the customer’s site.
- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
- Completes complex internal engine repairs
- Performs engine overhauls unassisted
- Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
- Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software
Requirements
- 14/14 shift day/ night shift rotation
- Travel to remote mine site and accommodation provided
- Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
- Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
- Locally valid driving permit
- Basic level field service work experience
- Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
- Customer service experience.
