About the role

  • Bilingual Application Engineer facilitating product integration and quality assurance at Cummins. Collaborating with clients and driving engineering solutions in the diesel engine sector.

Responsibilities

  • Foster cross-functional collaboration by gathering input from subject matter experts (SMEs) and VPI teams.
  • Influence product performance and quality by making informed decisions on product selection, system design, and integration strategies tailored to OEM applications.
  • Improve engineering processes by applying and optimizing tools to support rigorous, data-driven decision making.
  • Act as a trusted technical point of contact for OEM customers, managing specifications and resolving complex installation issues.
  • Translate customer needs into engineering solutions to embed the voice of the customer into requirements and program decisions.
  • Ensure installation excellence by validating prototype performance.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement by proposing customer-focused initiatives.

Requirements

  • Customer visits (20–40% of the time) for meetings, troubleshooting, and installation reviews in the Pointe-Claire region.
  • Hands-on technical work, including instrumentation installation, on-machine testing, and problem diagnosis.
  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engines, their components, subsystems, and operating principles.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Travel required for projects and meetings to the Pointe-Claire, QC branch.
  • Occasional travel to the United States (1–2 weeks per year) for training and industry conferences.
  • Proficiency in French and English (bilingual).
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility to obtain it.
