About the role

  • Agricultural Account Manager at Desjardins, promoting financial products and services to medium-sized agricultural organizations. Managing client relationships, credit solutions, risk, and portfolio profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, solicit, develop and maintain business relationships with primarily medium-sized agricultural organizations
  • Promote and sell Desjardins products and services to grow the business centre's business
  • Represent, negotiate and engage companies in complex agreements with significant business-centre impact
  • Balance sales objectives, prudent risk management, portfolio profitability and member, client and partner satisfaction
  • Initiate, develop and maintain personalized relationships with current and potential clients
  • Serve as key intermediary between the business centre and members and clients
  • Ensure proper usage, updating and satisfaction with products and services
  • Analyze dissatisfaction sources and recommend solutions
  • Identify and analyze needs, develop personalized solutions and prepare integrated service offerings
  • Negotiate applicable conditions with members and clients
  • Recommend strategies for business volume, risk management, portfolio profitability and stronger relationships
  • Identify business-development opportunities using market intelligence
  • Execute promotional activities and participate in targeted public relations and the business community
  • Address client and member needs, seize opportunities and make appropriate referrals
  • Comply with policies, practices, standards and laws governing financial-product and service distribution
  • Provide sound and prudent risk management for assigned portfolios

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience
  • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Knowledge of the latest financial, economic, policy and legislative developments
  • Ability to perform analyses of the market and the business centre external environment
  • Ability to perform financial analysis
  • Knowledge of the characteristics and credit risk inherent to the major agricultural and agriculture-related markets
  • Knowledge of loan and guarantee contracts
  • Knowledge of products and services for businesses and those offered by caisses, components and Desjardins distribution networks and those of the competition
  • Knowledge of financing and credit management practices related to businesses
  • Knowledge of policies, legislation and standards governing the products and services offered by the business centre
  • Knowledge of business credit authorization, monitoring, collection and recovery practices
  • Knowledge of the Desjardins business processes
  • Understanding of the referral process
  • Familiarity with government business assistance programs
  • Networking skills
